This is true only if the tapes are monitored and your staff are aware this is happening. This is not to say you should monitor on a regular basis but at least do spot checks occasionally.

This reminds me of a sign I once read:

"These premises are protected by shotgun 3 nights a week: you guess which three?" In this case your staff and customers will also have to guess what tapes you are monitoring.

If how ever you have a pilferage problem you will have to monitor on a regular basis 3 /4 weeks to show the culprit is taking on a regular basis and is not paying at a later stage which he/she may claim if you can not prove other wise.
